Dosage of Magaldrate for Dogs and Cats

According to Gould (2014a), the recommended subcutaneous dosage of magaldrate for dogs is 35 mg/kg twice daily for at least 14 days.

Oral Administration

For oral administration in dogs and cats, magaldrate should be given every 4 to 5 hours in conjunction with food.

Dosage Range

The single dose for oral administration ranges from 400 mg to 1600 mg. A daily dose of 6400 mg should not be exceeded.

Administration Frequency

For oral administration, magaldrate can be given as needed, several times a day, in doses of 800 mg per gel-beutel.
