Black Forest still mineral water has received the top rating of "very good" in a recent test of 62 natural mineral waters conducted by the German consumer organization Stiftung Warentest. The water is one of nine that received the highest rating and is explicitly recommended for preparing infant formula.

Black Forest still is completely free of carbon dioxide and has a particularly mild taste. It comes from underground sources that are protected from contamination.

However, the Stiftung Warentest testers found that Black Forest still water has a slightly bitter and drying taste.
