Max Verstappen extended his lead in the 2022 Formula One World Championship with a dominant victory at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Red Bull driver led from start to finish, crossing the line ahead of Ferrari's Carlos Sainz and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen's victory was his sixth in eight races this season, and it moved him 46 points clear of Sainz in the standings. Hamilton's third podium of the year lifted him to third overall, 75 points behind Verstappen.

The race was held in front of a sold-out crowd at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, and it was the first time that the Canadian Grand Prix had been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
