Southern Fenix: A Joint Military Exercise in the Atacama Desert

Militaries from the United States, Chile, Peru, and Brazil Participate

Southern Fenix is a multinational military exercise that took place in the Atacama Desert of Chile from August 22 to September 4, 2023. The exercise involved over 15,000 troops from the United States, Chile, Peru, and Brazil. The goal of the exercise was to improve the interoperability of the participating forces and to enhance their ability to respond to regional security challenges.
